Calling All Teachers: Classroom Pods Are In Session at The Rostie Group

Calling All Teachers, Classroom Pods Are In Session at The Rostie Group.

It’s late August and that means one thing, kids are going back to school.

Or are they?

The Ontario government recently unveiled their extensive back to school plan for the 2020-2021 school year.

Surely, a well thought out plan would be enough to enstill confidence in parent’s province wide.

Unfortunately, families across the province are torn as to whether they will be sending their young ones back to the traditional classrooms given the unprecedented risk involved.

Although we’ve come a long way since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontario is still experiencing triple-digit new cases per day, with a large chunk appearing in individuals 30 years old or lower.

It’s time for parents and teachers alike to start thinking out-side the box (or school) and consider some alternatives to the traditional classroom.

A long-standing problem in Ontario before COVID-19 became the main focus, was always class sizes and lack of resources, forcing many families to send their children to private schools where the educational experience was far superior to that of the public-school system.

But, as COVID has proven, these traditional private schools are not exempt from the dangers that exist in sending students back to the classrooms when school begins in September.

So, what are the alternatives for private schools?

Co Working providers are seeing this trend and have begun to lure students and teachers away from their classrooms and are now hosting private schools in their respective locations.

With manageable class sizes, integrated technology, serviced amenities, and a professional setting, these shared office centres are the ideal spaces for students and teachers to excel throughout the school year.

At The Rostie Group, this is our everyday business.

Our long-standing relationship with schools across the country has put us at the forefront of classroom rentals in downtown Toronto.  Our many meeting and training rooms have functioned as classrooms for nearly 20 years.

These comfortable, spacious classrooms feature:

  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Built-in presentation equipment
  • Data networking connections
  • Flexible furnishings to suit all class formats
  • Soundproof walls
  • Adjacent break-out rooms and tandem-use offices
  • Printing and scanning capabilities
  • Courtesy telephones
  • Wall to wall whiteboards
  • Flip Charts

Moving forward, students can be dropped off in the morning to go to their classroom, where their teacher or tutor can host daily classes with all of the resources that would resemble that of a regular classroom, except with a fraction of the students.

This new approach to teaching and learning will surely mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19 as well as any subsequent diseases or ailments that follow, while finally allowing for more one-on-one learning.
