I write you today from the comfort of my dining room table over-looking a fruit stand in the heart of Kensington Market. I woke up at 8am today, brewed myself a pot of coffee, grabbed a shower, ate two pieces of toast and clocked in at 9am.
I’m one of the lucky ones whose business has been able to adapt to the new work-from-home model.
My team and I connect every morning to discuss plans for the day, or week, and then we break off and go about our tasks. We all trust one another to do what we say we’re going to do, we’re professionals.
To further save on costs, we moved out of our offices a few months ago and started using the Virtual Services offered at The Rostie Group.
I’m making use of Plan 1, the Corporate Mail Address Plan. This costs us about $69.00 a month and provides my team and I with an exclusive downtown Toronto business address, mail reception and handling, and a discount on all Rostie Group meeting rooms.
I really can’t tell you how nice it is to have Laura and Kerri look after all the mail that comes in for our business. They send us an e-mail at the end of every week to let us know what mail has come in, from there we’re able to have them forward it on to whomever! If we’re eagerly awaiting a specific piece of mail (especially cheques), I can just let them know and they make sure to e-mail me the second it comes in.
Another feature we love to take advantage of is the 30% discount on all meeting rooms.
Currently, we’re not meeting with clients with any regularity, so we haven’t a need for any sort of permanent space.
With the sporadic nature of our meetings, it’s incredibly handy to be able to book a meeting room online just a few hours before! So far, we haven’t run into any scheduling conflicts, with The Rostie Group having 4 smaller meeting rooms, 2 boardrooms, and a multitude of day-offices, there is almost never going to be a time when you won’t find room.
If there was ever a time to transition to a virtual office, I’d say it’s now!
